The new framework has been awarded to nPower Business Solutions and will cover the period from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2028. The detailed exercise has been run in full compliance with Public Contract Regulations (2015).

WME are delighted to announce the winning supplier, who has demonstrated their ability to meet an extensive list of key criteria required to support both WME and our public sector customers. This new framework will support the ever-changing needs of our customer base, as we revolutionise public sector energy procurement towards a net-zero future. As a result, WME will be transferring our electricity portfolio from our incumbent supplier to nBS, in April 2024.

The flexible framework provides a simple and compliant route to market and will be available for any public body to access. It can be used to facilitate the flexible procurement and supply of electricity to Half Hourly metered, Non-Half Hourly metered and Unmetered supplies.

This flexible approach to energy procurement is often favoured by the public sector, given it is widely viewed the most risk managed way to procure energy.

As well as benefiting from defined quality standards supported by robust KPIs, the framework covers a wide range of additional areas including net-zero products and solutions, and social value.

The procurement of this framework is the culmination of many months of detailed planning and delivery by the team at WME who were delighted to get the contract over the line this week.

WME Managing Director, Nigel Evans, commented, “We are delighted to get this new framework in place and open to the public sector to access from April 2024. We are pleased with the outcome and look forward to working in partnership with nBS to deliver forward thinking, innovative solutions to our customers on both our Procurement Only, and Fully Managed service options”.

Sarah Middleton, Public Sector Channel Head, nBS added “We are thrilled to welcome WME and members back to the nBS fold. The team are keen to share our substantial public sector experience to support with your environmental, economic and social objectives.”

WME have been providing energy procurement and associated services to the public sector for over 30 years. We offer a range of service offerings and procurement options to suit all requirements.
