In June, the West Mercia Energy team came together at Shropshire Wildlife Centre for our annual staff conference. A day where the whole team comes together to reflect, learn, and to look forward.
Celebrating 2024/25
The event was a chance to celebrate the successes of the past year and acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our teams in delivering value, service, and innovation for our public sector customers. From navigating a complex energy market to strengthening our frameworks and services, 2024/25 has been a year of progress here at WME.
Facing Challenges and Setting Ambitions
Alongside celebrating achievements, we also took time to openly discuss the challenges that come with operating in such a dynamic sector. Importantly, we looked ahead to our ambitions for 2025/26 and beyond, reaffirming our focus on supporting the public sector in their journey toward net zero, while continuing to deliver reliable and cost-effective energy solutions and above all, high quality service.
Learning and Development
The day also included valuable continuing professional development (CPD) sessions, focused on upcoming industry changes and how these may impact our customers. By staying ahead of the curve, we ensure our team is not only well-informed but also well prepared to guide and support our customers through the evolving energy landscape.
Engaged and Energised
The conference brought the whole WME team together, giving us the chance to share knowledge, celebrate successes, and strengthen our collective vision. The feedback from colleagues was overwhelmingly positive with staff feeling enthused, educated, and energised for the year ahead.
As we move into 2025/26, we remain committed to delivering for our customers, supporting the public sector in achieving their energy goals, and continuing to make WME a trusted partner in the journey to a more sustainable future.
