Background
Cheshire West & Chester Council required an electricity meter installation for their new Chester Archives building. While processing the application, WME’s Siteworks Team identified discrepancies in the supply’s technical details within industry records, errors that could have led to incorrect registration, pricing, and the installation of the wrong meter type which could have severely delayed the project leading to cost implications for the Council.
Our Brief
WME’s Siteworks Team provide an end-to-end service for your metering requirements. For new supplies, this not only involves organising meter installations but also the background administrative work that is essential in getting the supply registered correctly to ensure that billing and industry records are correct.
Correct Supply Registration
WME’s Siteworks Team was able to take ownership of the issue, and acting as a single point of contact, the team liaised directly with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) on behalf of Cheshire West & Chester Council to correct the supply details. As part of WME’s commitment to providing a proactive and customer focused service, The Siteworks Team will always look to tailor our service to all parties involved to help ensure the process remains clear and accessible, regardless of the customer’s level of energy industry knowledge.
The Outcome
The supply was successfully updated, registered, and priced correctly, preventing significant project delays and unnecessary rework. Furthermore, metering is now booked and ready for installation in Spring 2026, which enables the Council to keep the Chester Archives project firmly on track.
