WME currently have 3 frameworks for gas and electricity.
- Fully flexible electricity framework; used to facilitate the flexible procurement and supply of electricity to Half Hourly metered, Non-Half Hourly metered and Unmetered supplies
- Fully flexible gas framework; used to facilitate the flexible procurement and supply of natural gas
- Fixed term, fixed price gas and electricity multi-supplier framework; used to facilitate the arrangement of fixed price gas and electricity contracts using mini-competitions
We currently trade 1billion kWh of gas and electricity through these frameworks each year which is delivered to around 7,500 supply points across the public sector. The majority of our end users are within the education sector, however we also supply local authorities, district councils and numerous emergency services.
Our frameworks for supplying gas and electricity are fully OJEU compliant and therefore customers can be reassured that a robust procurement exercise has been undertaken to appoint a single, high quality and cost effective energy supplier.
While your gas and electricity is supplied through our chosen supplier, the cost of wholesale energy is determined by WME’s buying strategy. It is therefore important that you understand the Procurement strategy that you choose when selecting an energy supplier.
Billing is produced by the supplier and send directly to WME for Validation once we are happy that the bill is correct, we pay the supplier and onward charge to the customer.
